Africa. The Forbes '50 Over 50' program honors the accomplishments of women 50 years of age and older, proving that success is not limited to any one age group.

It started out as a project in 2021 in association with co-host of Morning Joe Mika Brzezinski's Know Your Value campaign. The List aims to dispel the common myth that women are no longer productive once they reach their fifties.

The "50 Over 50" list aims to recognize women in their sixth decade or later who are achieving new professional heights, revolutionizing their sectors, or starting lucrative businesses. In particular, it highlights those women who have overcome substantial obstacles.

The project began with a focus on Women in the U.S. and now recognizes contributions from women across the globe - Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Among the "50 Over 50" notables are Bettie Parker, the first female mayor of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and Bobbi Brown, the creator and CEO of Jones Road Beauty. Both women went against the grain and started new businesses or accomplished major milestones after reaching 50.

'50 Over 50' is an annual list, and Forbes is currently seeking nominations for its 2023 edition. We encourage every remarkable woman over 50 to submit their nominations.

For anyone looking for ideas, inspiration, or nomination guidelines, further details are available on the Forbes website.
